Défilé (pronounced [day-fee-LAY]) means "Parade or procession of dancers." I'm not sure how they began to use it, but The Paris Opera has used the term this way for many years. Both from the French and the American point of view many have not liked the use of the term.

We have fashioned our end of year performances around this concept because it allows our studio to grow in numbers and our performances to be held within a reasonable time frame.

Westside Studio's Défilé is enjoyable, moves quickly and gives every dancer an opportunity to be on stage for an age appropriate amount of time.

Westside studio of Performing Arts, under the direction of Sheila Bailey, has enjoyed putting on the annual professional production of the Nutcracker Ballet for 30 Christmas seasons in southern Utah. Grown-ups and children will delight in seeing the mice and soldiers in battle before clara continues into the Snow Kingdom and the Land of the Sweets to visit the Sugar Plum Fairy. Dancers from around the world entertain the Nutcracker Prince and Clara along with bringing smiles to the faces of all involved.
