Sheila Bailey began her dance studies in St. George with Diane Hafen. As a scholarship student at Southern Utah University, she danced with Burch Mann's America Folk Ballet. During her performing career with Arizona Ballet Theatre of Tucson she began her teaching career at the Stephanie Stigers School of Ballet, Pima Community College. Her teaching abilities were noticed, and she was hired to relocate and join the staff of Dancenter North, a Performing Arts School in Chicago. There she taught all forms of dance. Sheila continued her dance education with the University of Illinois through her 21-year membership in the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters. Sheila for 4 years was adjust faculty for DSC teaching Ballet, Jazz and coaching Cheer. She has served as a board member of the St. George City Arts Commission. Named 2008 Woman of Achievement from the national organization of BPW (Business and Professional Women) Sheila returned to the St. George area for its sunshine and with the desire to teach dance and be a part of creating a dance environment in Southern Utah.

INSTRUCTOR

Camille Bahoravitch was born to dance. She received her Bachelors in Dance Education at Southern Utah University and completed her teaching certificate in Secondary Education. Camille has trained in ballet since 1995. Training at the Murray Ballet Center, she started en pointe when she was 10 years old and later continued her training at C & C Ballet Copper Hills High School Dance Company learning other genres of dance. Dancing has brought her opportunities to travel and perform around the world, including New York City performing for the Alwin Nikolais Collaboration and for a couple years to Wuhan, China working on the “Dream of Helen”. Her choreography has been selected twice to perform for the American College Dance Festival and she was president of her modern dance company club, Orchesis at SUU. Camille recently collaborated with The Children’s Justice Center for their fundraiser “Dancing with the Community Stars” and placed first. She currently teaches at Westside Studio. She absolutely loves teaching and dancing and it has always been a dream of hers to share her passion with others.

INSTRUCTOR

Growing up in Farmington, UT, Erica received her early training at Clytie Adam’s School of Ballet and the Ballet West Conservatory. She received the prestigious William F. Christensen scholarship to the University of Utah and danced principal roles with the Utah Ballet. She was a member of Odyssey Dance Theater from 2009-2014, and continues to perform with them as a guest artist. Erica has also performed in 11 seasons (26 shows!) at the Tuacahn Amphitheater. She has danced in Taiwan, Switzerland, Paris, London, Istanbul, Germany, and Japan where she spent a year dancing the roles of Wendy and Snow White in the original cast of “One Man’s Dream II” at Tokyo Disneyland. Other favorite roles include: Victoria (Cats), Dream Laurie (Oklahoma!), Duvay (Starlight Express), Mary Bailey (It’s a Wonderful Life), a featured Rockette in Disney’s High School Musical 3, and especially enjoys the roles of Mrs. Frankenstein (Thriller), Snow Queen and Sugarplum Fairy (The Nutcracker) because she often gets to dance those roles with her favorite partner, her husband Troy. Erica is especially thrilled to be performing again, after taking a break to have their sweet baby boy Hunter.

INSTRUCTOR

Originally from Texas, Troy received his early training from the Houston Ballet. Shortly thereafter, he began performing as a guest artist with several ballet companies in the Houston area. At the age of 19 he moved to L.A. with a scholarship to the Edge Performing Arts Center where he worked with such dance greats as Dee Caspary, Mandy Moore, Mark Meismer, and Doug Caldwell. Troy was a company member in Adam Parson’s C. Dance Company, Terry Beeman’s Performance Company, and Justin Giles’ Soul Escape. He has performed in music video’s for Pink, Lenny Kravitz, and Avril Lavigne. He joined Odyssey Dance Theater as a full time company member from 2008-2014, and continues to regularly perform with them as a guest artist. Troy has performed in almost every season of the Tuacahn “Broadway” shows since 2009. He first performed with St. George Ballet Company’s “The Nutcracker” in 2012 where he danced as the Snow Cavalier with his wife Erica, and again in 2013, opposite his wife, as the Snow and Sugarplum Cavalier. He is excited to explore new roles in this wonderful production again! Much love to Erica and their baby boy Hunter.

INSTRUCTOR

Amber began her dance training in Salt Lake City, Utah. When relocating to St. George she continued her interest in dance and soon her reputation as choreographer, teacher and performer spread beyond Utah to Arizona and Nevada. Amber has choreographed and taught for the Dance Department at Dixie State University (2002-2005). Has recently choreographed for the University’s Dixie Blaze Dance Team in 2018 and 2019 and for 24 years has fulfilled the role of teacher, choreographer for Westside Studio of the Performing Arts. For the last 4 seasons (2016-2019) she choreographed and directed the show Tap Tidings, a Westside Studio holiday tap dance show. In 2016 she choreographed for Merrill Osmond’s, “Alive & Kickin”, at the Casa Blanca in Mesquite, NV and just recently choreographed the musical “Pajama Game” for St. George Musical Theater. She is a 19-year member and certified dance instructor of the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters, a conference she has attended in the summer, which one summer her talent came to the attention of Jacques d’Amboise who cast her in his choreographic project. Amber also performed in Tuacahn’s 2007 summer cast of 42nd Street and served for 3 years as a board member of the St. George City Arts Commission. She is a graduate of Southern Utah University with a BA in Marketing & Advertising.

Heidi Sorensen- originally from Henderson, Nevada she started dancing at Fern Adair Conservatory of the Arts. She attended the Las Vegas Academy of Performing Arts during high school. Her ballet studies included summers at Boston Ballet summer intensive and taking as many master classes as she could find and her ballet teachers could provide. In her senior year of high school, she started dancing at King Arthur’s Tournament at Excalibur Hotel Casino. Immediately following graduation, Heidi received a spot in the corps de ballet of the Albany Bershire Ballet, where she performed in Les Sylphides, Carmina Burana, and Graduation Ball. Shortly after Heidi came home to St. George after her parents had moved there and started teaching at Westside Studio for Sheila Bailey for about a year. She was also a soloist dancer in Tuacahn’s performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Heidi then moved away to Pocatello Idaho and got married. She finished her bachelors degree in Heath Education and taught ballet for 6 years in Pocatello Idaho, first with the Gateway Center for Theatre and Dance and then at the Brindusa Moore Ballet Academy. Heidi then took a break from dancing and teaching to be a mom to her 3 kids. Life has taken her back to St. George Utah teaching at Westside Studio and she couldn’t be happier!

Annica Wright developed her dancing talents at a young age while training under Joan Miller and Victoria Leigh at The Palm Beach Ballet Center in the genres of ballet, jazz, and modern. Her focus shifted to attend ballet companies such as Sarasota Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, and Houston Ballet. She attended Palm Beach County School of the Arts to continue her dance training. There she had an opportunity to start her professional ballet career with Ballet Florida and during her junior year performed in The Nutcracker and A Midsummer’s Night dream. She then accepted a scholarship to study year-round at the Houston Ballet Academy during her senior year of high school. Annica graduated high school in 1994 and began pursuing her dream of becoming a professional ballerina with Houston Ballet dancing with their Corps de Ballet in The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, La Bayadere, Cinderella, Manon, Alice in Wonderland, Don Quixote, and Peer Gynt. She then went on to dance with the Atlanta Ballet. After becoming a wife and mother, Annica has remained active in the arts and in the community by teaching ballet at Sunrise Dance Academy in Chubbuck, Idaho, and she currently teaches at Westside Dance Studio in St. George, Utah. She loves being able to teach ballet and share her love of the arts.
